5k Run/Walk to raise awareness of substance abuse in Carteret County
Dear Friends,
On Saturday March 14, 2020, Ann Street United Methodist Church, Calvary Baptist Church, as well as other community churches and organizations are organizing a 5k Run/Walk to raise awareness of substance abuse in Carteret County. The profits from this 5k Run Walk event will raise scholarship money for men that cannot afford treatment in the Loaves and Fishes Recovery Program.
The cost of substance abuse treatment is a huge barrier for people looking to receive help. A large percentage of people that reach out for help are unable to afford treatment. We strive to charge as little as possible for our services, as well as offer scholarship beds for clients who are unable to afford treatment. Despite our efforts to help everyone that applies to our program, we often have to turn people down or refer them elsewhere, simply because they cannot afford our treatment costs.
Please consider joining us in our efforts to raise awareness, as well as help save the lives of individuals struggling with substance abuse.
